CMEF (China Medical Equipment Fair) is the Asia-Pacific region's largest medical device and equipment exhibition, held twice yearly in Shanghai. 4. Cryostat Microtome

Our cryostat microtome is designed for rapid intraoperative frozen section diagnosis, enabling surgeons to receive pathology results during surgery:

• High-throughput capacity: processes multiple slides per minute with automatic slide feeding cassette

• Customizable print content: barcode, QR code, alphanumeric text, logos — integrated with laboratory information systems (LIS) via standard communication protocols

• Compact benchtop footprint suitable for space-constrained histology laboratories

Exhibition Highlights and Outcomes

CMEF Spring 2026 was Roundfin's most successful pathology-focused exhibition to date. Key results from the four-day event:

• Complete workflow appeal: The five-instrument lineup — covering every step from specimen dissection (grossing station) to labeled slide output (slide printer) — resonated strongly with hospital laboratory directors planning new pathology department setups or complete lab renovations. Several procurement teams requested quotations for full five-instrument packages rather than individual units

• Microtome + embedding station demand: As at MEDICA 2025, these two instruments generated the highest volume of qualified inquiries. The ability to demonstrate sectioning quality live — visitors could produce and examine paraffin ribbons themselves — converted interest into leads at a significantly higher rate than passive displays

• Slide printer as a differentiating product: The laser slide printer surprised us by generating substantial interest from diagnostic laboratories that had not previously considered Roundfin for labeling solutions. The permanent laser-etched marking — resistant to xylene, alcohol, and staining reagents — was identified as a key advantage over traditional ink-based or thermal-transfer slide printers

• Grossing station ventilation demonstrations: Our smoke-tracer ventilation demonstration — showing formalin vapor capture at the downdraft perimeter — proved highly effective. Hospital safety officers and pathology lab managers who observed the demonstration frequently initiated discussions about replacing older, poorly ventilated grossing stations in their facilities

• Regional distributor partnerships: Medical equipment distributors from Indonesia, Vietnam, Egypt, Brazil, and Mexico expressed interest in exclusive or preferred distribution arrangements for specific histopathology product lines in their territories — particularly the embedding center and cryostat, where local alternatives are limited
