Roundfin returned to MEDICA 2025 in Düsseldorf, Germany, marking our third consecutive year at the world's largest medical trade fair. This year, we placed a focused spotlight on our histopathology and histology laboratory equipment -- particularly our semi-automatic rotary microtomes and tissue embedding centers -- to meet the growing demand from European pathology labs for reliable, CE marked, and cost-effective sectioning and embedding solutions.

About MEDICA 2025

MEDICA continues to set the global standard for medical trade fairs. The 2025 edition brought together an estimated 5,500+ exhibitors from over 70 countries and attracted more than 85,000 professional visitors -- hospital administrators, laboratory directors, procurement managers, medical device distributors, and healthcare policy makers -- across 17 exhibition halls at Messe Düsseldorf.

For Roundfin, MEDICA 2025 represented our most strategically focused participation to date. Rather than showcasing our full product range, we concentrated on two core histopathology laboratory instruments where we see the strongest European market demand and where our manufacturing quality offers the clearest competitive differentiation.

Semi-Automatic Rotary Microtome

Our semi-automatic rotary microtome was the centerpiece of the Roundfin booth at MEDICA 2025. Designed for high-throughput histology and pathology laboratories, this instrument delivers precision paraffin sectioning with key features that attracted strong interest from European lab professionals:

Tissue Embedding Center

Alongside the microtome, our tissue embedding center drew consistent crowds throughout the four-day event. This workstation integrates all embedding functions into a single ergonomic unit:

• Independent temperature zones: Paraffin reservoir (55-70 degree C), working area, cryo-plate (-5 degree C), and forceps warmer -- each with independent microprocessor control for optimal embedding conditions

• Large-capacity paraffin tank: 3.5-liter reservoir with integrated filtration and paraffin drainage system for easy cleaning and minimal downtime between batches

• Built-in magnifier: Adjustable LED-illuminated magnifying lens for precise orientation of small or complex tissue specimens within the embedding mold

• Cooling plate: Rapid-set cryo-plate with -5 degree C surface temperature for fast block solidification -- reduces waiting time between embedding and microtome sectioning

• Ergonomic layout: All controls within reach of a seated operator, with the work surface, magnifier, and cooling plate positioned to minimize repetitive movement during high-volume embedding sessions

• Stainless steel housing: Fully welded and polished 304 stainless steel construction for easy decontamination and chemical resistance in the histology lab environment

Exhibition Highlights and Outcomes

MEDICA 2025 produced strong results for Roundfin, particularly in the European histopathology equipment segment:

• Microtome demonstration effect: The live sectioning demonstration -- where visitors could produce paraffin ribbons themselves on our semi-automatic microtome -- was the single most effective engagement tool at our booth. Over 150 pathology professionals tested the handwheel feel and examined section quality under the provided microscope, generating qualified leads at a significantly higher rate than passive product displays

• Embedding center workflow interest: Laboratory managers from Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Scandinavia spent considerable time reviewing the embedding center's independent temperature zone controls and ergonomic layout -- key differentiators for labs upgrading from older single-temperature units

• OEM/ODM distributor discussions: Several European laboratory equipment distributors initiated discussions about private-label OEM partnerships for microtomes and embedding centers, attracted by Roundfin's ISO 13485 certified manufacturing and competitive factory-direct pricing model
